End of Contract Damage
At the end of your lease contract, the return condition of the vehicle is important. While it doesn’t have to be perfect, it should be free from major issues.
These major issues include significant dents or scratches and badly kerbed alloy wheels.
Most of the vehicle funders we deal with adhere to the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association (BVRLA) Fair Wear and Tear Guide, which is deemed to be fair to both leasing companies and their clients.
So dents or scratches outside the Fair Wear and Tear Guide are subject to end of contract charges to cover the cost of rectification.
The BVRLA also acts as an arbitration service should a mutual agreement not be reached.
We are familiar with interpreting the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear guide and where we believe unfair charges have been levied, we will contest them on your behalf.
We can also help you to reduce charges by suggesting cost-effective strategies to minimize damage before the vehicle is returned. This can be an effective way to avoid costly end of contract damage charges.
We believe it is much more cost effective to create a culture of damage reduction than damage repair: involving drivers in actively caring for their vehicles pays dividends. We consider the regular completion of our inspection app makes drivers look at their vehicle more closely, more frequently and alters their mindset with regards to vehicle care.
