CBVC Vehicle Management’s online personal leasing portal, Leasing Gorilla, launched nearly three years ago, continues to exceed all expectations in terms of its trading and development.
Now headed by Nathan Keeling (pictured), who has spent two years with the business, Leasing Gorilla now has five staff with plans to double that number by the end of the year.
Commenting on the rise and rise of the personal and business leasing brand of CBVC Vehicle Management, Managing Director Mike Manners says:
“When we launched Leasing Gorilla it was clear we had to offer an online leasing portal full of good deals for personal customers – and latterly business customers – who only really wanted to transact online.
“It has, I have to say, been astonishingly successful, and has simply exceeded all expectations. In its first year it helped increase group sales by 66% and has continued in the same vein ever since.”
More recently, the Leasing Gorilla website was upgraded with a new design to make choosing a new lease vehicle easier and simpler for the consumer.
Nathan Keeling says the visual upgrade and the improved presentation of leasing terms has made an immediate impact.
“Not only is the website more visually appealing, the customer experience is far more superior. From our end, there’s also much easier management of sales enquiries in a fully digital environment, which also helps improve the customer experience.”
Why Leasing Gorilla?
When the Leasing Gorilla operation was launched in September 2018 in order to separate the CBVC Vehicle Management brand from the personal contract hire side of the business, the name ‘Leasing Gorilla’ was selected because – as it says on the tin – there is ‘no monkey business, just great deals’.
“The younger people in the business chose the name, which is certainly memorable. I think if it had been left to us more mature individuals, it would have been more corporate. But in retrospect, it was inspired.”
Nearly three years later, Leasing Gorilla offers a wide array of new cars and vans available on either personal leasing or business contract hire deals at very competitive rental prices.
“When the site first started, we saw a large proportion of Leasing Gorilla’s customers were company car drivers who were opting out of their company car scheme because of the high levels of benefit-in-kind taxation they were facing. How that has changed in such a short time. Now we are seeing company car drivers coming back into company-provided cars to take advantage of the very low benefit-in-kind levels of taxation on zero-emission battery electric vehicles, or plug-in hybrids.
“The remainder of our customers are individuals who are looking for a brand new car at very attractive and market leading monthly rates.”
Leasing Gorilla offers all makes and models of cars and vans, with attractive leasing deals backed by the major funders. Leases are typically two to four years in duration.
“The business uses its purchasing volumes and great contacts with manufacturers, leasing companies and dealers to generate the best possible prices for customers. We always have a brilliant selection of special offers and cars available for immediate delivery, however you can always specify the exact car you want with a specification to suit, and we can order that for you too – although you may have to wait a little longer on delivery.”
It’s not just about the deals, of course – Leasing Gorilla aims to give its customers first rate service and support in not only finding the right car with the right leasing contract, but there’s also a simple online proposal, e-sign administration and regular client updates throughout the process until car delivery.
Typical of the feedback Leasing Gorilla enjoys is this: “The team at Leasing Gorilla went out of their way to help me get into the car I wanted as quickly as possible. I was very happy with the price and the excellent customer service and would not hesitate to come back to Leasing Gorilla in the future.”
Keeling finishes by saying:
“We’re always pleased to receive feedback like that, but we are continually working on improvements to make the customer experience better, and our pricing even sharper. It will be interesting to see where we are in the next three years!”
