BMW iX3 launches on Neue Klasse platform, sets new benchmark for fleet EVs

BMW has officially revealed the all-new iX3, the first production model to launch on its ‘Neue Klasse’ platform. Available from March 2026, the premium electric SUV is seen as a defining vehicle for BMW’s electrified future, with a WLTP range of up to 500 miles, rapid charging speeds of up to 400kW, and a strong focus on lifecycle sustainability.

For fleet operators and salary sacrifice drivers, the iX3 offers a compelling mix of performance, practicality and low company car tax. It features BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system, delivering 0–62mph in under five seconds, alongside a maximum towing capacity of 2,000kg. Boot space is rated at 520 litres (expanding to 1,750 litres with the seats folded), and there’s an additional 58 litres of storage under the bonnet. These figures make it a highly versatile choice for both daily business use and longer personal journeys.

The vehicle will be produced in Hungary at BMW’s new Debrecen plant, which operates entirely without fossil fuels in its standard processes. According to BMW, the new iX3 offers a 34% reduction in full lifecycle CO₂ emissions compared with the outgoing model, thanks to the use of renewable energy in manufacturing, recycled materials in construction, and advancements in battery cell technology.

Inside, the iX3 debuts BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive system and next-generation operating system. A clean, minimalist interior is matched with recycled materials and an updated design language that retains hallmark BMW features such as the driver-focused layout and dual kidney grille.

“This is the car that defines the next generation of BMW. It’s efficient, elegant, and engineered for real-world use,” said Frank Weber, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG.

The iX3’s long range, rapid charging, and efficient drivetrain could contribute to lower total cost of ownership and reduced downtime for drivers. BMW’s strong reputation should also help keep its resale values high in the leasing market.

Pricing starts from £58,755 OTR. Full UK specifications and business lease offers will be confirmed closer to launch.
