CBVC fleet customer insight – what was hot in Q4 2023?

As team CBVC looks forward to an exciting 2024, we’re also looking back at our Q4 orders. It’s always insightful to see what was popular with customers, how that compares with the overall market and what the reality of electric vehicle take-up really looks like.

CBVC order bank reflects the move to electric

Quarter four saw a substantial proportion of lower emission vehicles on the order books, with electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids collectively accounting for 64% of all fleet and business contract hire orders.

Unsurprisingly, most salary sacrifice orders were fully electric thanks to the preferential benefit in kind tax rates on zero emission vehicles – offering drivers a great route into the benefits of driving EVs.

Fleet and business contract hire

Our top five most ordered vehicles for the quarter included class-leading EVs in the Tesla Model Y and MG4 – these were also the two bestselling EVs of 2023, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders

The EVs sit alongside more traditional fleet vehicles -the Skoda Octavia and Vauxhall Movano van – joined by the new hybrid Toyota Corolla Commercial which takes second top spot thanks to a large fleet order.

Salary sacrifice

Our most ordered vehicles on salary sacrifice include a wide range of electric vehicles, showcasing that if you’re looking for an EV with great range, it’s not just all about Tesla.  And just check out the Porsche Taycan in p4 for the salary sacrifice takers!
