Chery launches in the UK with SUV-focused line-up and 7-year warranty

Chinese carmaker Chery has officially launched its UK operations, bringing a new range of competitively priced SUVs to market with a focus on value, technology and strong aftersales support.

The brand enters the UK with two key models: the mid-sized Tiggo 7 and the seven-seat Tiggo 8, both available in petrol and more business-friendly plug-in hybrid (PHEV) formats.

Prices for the Tiggo 7 start from £24,995, while the larger Tiggo 8 is priced from £28,545, with plug-in hybrid versions available from around £33,545. The PHEV variants in both models offer an electric-only range of up to 56 miles, making them suitable for urban commutes and potentially attractive from a benefit-in-kind perspective.

Both the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV start at 9% company car tax for the current tax year – you can work out your potential BIK with our company car tax calculator.

While the brand itself is new to UK roads, Chery is one of China’s largest vehicle exporters and already sells under the Omoda and Jaecoo names in international markets. It is entering the UK with an initial 25-site dealer network, with plans to expand to 100 retailers by 2026. Most sites will be shared with its sister brands, enabling faster rollout and greater service coverage across the country.

Interior equipment includes dual widescreen digital displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, modern infotainment and expected ADAS safety features. The Tiggo 8 includes a full seven-seat layout, positioning it as a lower-cost alternative to established lareger family SUV rivals. Chery will also launch smaller and larger models, including the Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 9, within the next six months to broaden its line-up.

For business users, Chery is backing all models with a seven-year warranty and three years’ RAC roadside assistance as standard. While the long-term values are yet to be established, this level of cover may offer added reassurance for both company car drivers and fleet managers trialling a new brand.

Although the brand is entering a competitive SUV segment, Chery is positioning itself as a value-led alternative with strong equipment levels and electrified drivetrain options. First deliveries of Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 are expected in Q4 2025.
