From 1 September 2025, Dartford Crossing tolls will increase as part of efforts to ease chronic congestion. Charges for cars and motorhomes will rise to £3.50 (up £1), while 2-axle vans and coaches will pay £4.20. Pre-paid users get slight relief, with discounted rates across the board.
The government says the move responds to a 7.5% jump in usage since 2014, with daily volumes now smashing the 135,000-vehicle capacity. Night-time crossings (10pm–6am), motorcycles, and cyclists remain free. The rise coincides with funding for the £9.2bn Lower Thames Crossing, aimed at taking pressure off the Dartford route.
