The all-new compact Kia EV3 SUV has burst onto the leasing scene in the best way possible: it has just been named UK Car of the Year.
The award follows the EV3 winning the Small Crossover’ category, announced 20 February, which automatically shortlisted the latest EV form Kia for the overall UK Car of the Year 2025′ prize.
And it appears Kia is on something of a winning streak with the UK Car of the Year judges – comprising a panel of senior automotive journalists – having won the trophy the previous year with the Kia EV9.
Prior to Kia’s two straight wins on the bounce, the winner in 2023 was the MG4.
Matt de Prez, Senior Staff Writer at Fleet News, said:
While it competes with small crossovers on price, the EV3 is as big as models in the segment above. Combined with its long range and decent spec, it’s a great all-rounder.
John Challen, Co-chairman of the UK Car of the Year Awards added: With this car, Kia has successfully grown its EV portfolio, following the success of the EV6 and the EV9. Securing back-to-back successes in this competition has only been achieved once before, which shows the outstanding attributes and appeal of the Kia EV3.
With a range of up to 375 miles on a single charge, the EV3 offers the longest range of Kia’s electric vehicle line-up to date.
Paul Philpott, President & CEO of Kia UK, commented:
We’re delighted to once again be victorious winning the outright UK Car of the Year Award with EV3. With this outstanding recognition and our increasing order bank, we are confident EV3 will continue being a popular and accessible choice for the growing number of people switching to electric.
