The classy compact SUV is back for more after more than 2m models have been sold worldwide – say hello to the third generation of the Audi Q3.
The new car is better looking, more dynamic, features more safety kit and with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version arriving soon, it will also be ideal for business drivers thanks to its zero emission capability of 74 miles – double the previous car’s ability.
The new Audi Q3 is also available as a petrol TFSi model in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions and a diesel TDI model with front drive only. The PHEV version will be front-wheel drive.
There are three grades available on the new Audi Q3:
- Sport
- S line
- and Edition 1

Among the features on the new Q3 is lighting technology available for the first time in the Audi compact segment using micro-LED modules – 25,600 of them to be precise. Each individual micro-LED is around 40 micrometres in size, which is about half the thickness of a human hair.
What does that mean to the driver? Audi says it significantly improves illumination and thus ensures very clear contrast on the road – particularly during difficult weather conditions.
Another welcome feature is trained parking – and let’s face it, we can all do with some help with parking occasionally.
This feature allows drivers to teach the Audi Q3 individual parking manoeuvres. If access to a garage is difficult, the Audi Q3 only needs to be trained once and will, after that, take care of parking on its own. All you have to do is watch. The same applies to coming out of a parking space.
Audi says the new Audi Q3 can remember up to five parking manoeuvres, 50 metres in length. What’s more, if your journey ends in a cul-de-sac, the new reverse assistant provides further assistance. At speeds below 21mph, the Audi Q3 can remember a distance of around 50 metres and can reverse independently at a speed of around 6mph.
Prices start from £38,300 for the Q3 SUV TFSI 150PS Sport, and £45,800 for the Q3 SUV e-hybrid 272PS Sport model. The topline PHEV model is the Q3 SUV e-hybrid 272PS Edition 1 costing £51,350. Lease costs for the new Audi Q3 will be available shortly on the CBVC website.
