Tara Group boosts employee benefits with CBVC salary sacrifice scheme

Tara Group, the independently owned construction company, has selected fleet management specialist CBVC Vehicle Management as its electric vehicle (EV) salary sacrifice partner.

Following a successful pilot in May, the scheme was officially launched last month as a new employee benefit at a dedicated event at Tara Group’s headquarters in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

The salary sacrifice launch, designed and run by CBVC, featured manufacturer support from Polestar, Audi and BMW who provided demonstration vehicles and test drives. CBVC also delivered a company-wide presentation to explain the scheme, and answer questions on the switch to an EV.

Julie Caudle, Chief Commercial Officer for Tara Group, commented:

“Introducing salary sacrifice is an important addition to the Tara Group employee benefits scheme. We’ve worked with CBVC to build a package that is highly attractive to our team and will help us to continue to attract and retain the very best people.

CBVC Vehicle Management was already a trusted partner, as the team manages our Chasetown Civil Engineering fleet, so we knew we were in expert hands. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of electric vehicles in our car parks in the near future!’

Tara Group has a significant proportion of employees eligible for salary sacrifice, and CBVC is already reporting strong levels of enquiries – with particular interest in the demonstrator vehicles showcased on launch day.

Michelle George, Commercial Director at CBVC Vehicle Management commented:

We’re delighted to build on our relationship with Tara Group through the introduction of EV salary sacrifice. The scheme gives the Group’s employees a simple and affordable way to drive the latest electric vehicles while delivering savings for the business. When it’s implemented well, salary sacrifice can really enhance an employee benefit programme, as well as playing a valuable role in supporting the ESG agenda.”

Salary sacrifice is a highly tax-efficient way for employees to access a new, fully maintained EV. Employees exchange part of their gross salary for a leased electric vehicle, reducing income tax and national insurance contributions (NIC), while employers benefit from lower NIC costs and strengthened ESG credentials.

The scheme launch comes at a time of rapid salary sacrifice growth. According to the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) Leasing Outlook October 2025 , the number of vehicles funded through salary sacrifice continues to increase, with year-on-year growth standing at 118.2%.
